About the Brand
Who is Ford?
Ford builds in China through two joint ventures: Changan Ford for passenger cars and SUVs, and Jiangling Motors, JMC, for commercial vehicles and pickups. The Chinese range includes models that never reached North America, such as the Territory and the current China-market Mondeo, alongside locally built versions of the Explorer, Kuga and Mustang Mach-E. Ford has publicly described China as an export base for some of its own models.
Ford does export selected China-built vehicles through its own network to markets in Latin America, Asia-Pacific and elsewhere, but that is Ford shipping to Ford — it is not a channel open to third-party traders. Cars bought on the Chinese domestic market and shipped abroad are a different route, with different documentation and different after-sales consequences, and we treat the two as the separate things they are.
Ford exports some China-built models through its own distribution network, but that channel is not open to third-party traders. Units bought on the Chinese domestic market and shipped abroad move through China's parallel-export channel instead. That is legal in the right corridors, but factory warranty and Ford dealer support in your country will not necessarily apply, and we make the distinction explicit before you commit.
