The N7 is Dongfeng Nissan's first China-developed electric sedan, launched in April 2025 with Sunwoda LFP batteries of 58 or 73 kWh delivering 510 to 625 km CLTC from front motors of 160 or 200 kW.

Its distinguishing characteristic is size relative to price — a large sedan launched from around 119,900 yuan, which is entry-hatchback money in most Western markets. Nissan engineered it in China for Chinese conditions rather than localising a global car, which is why the pricing works. How can a large electric sedan be this cheap? +

Because it was developed in China for the Chinese market using Chinese suppliers and cost structures, rather than being an adapted global model. Dongfeng Nissan launched it from around 119,900 yuan. LFP batteries from Sunwoda cost less than NMC packs, and the car is engineered to a price rather than to a global specification. The trade-off is that it exists only for China.

Which battery for taxi or fleet use? +

Either works well because both are LFP, which tolerates daily fast charging and heat far better than NMC over a long service life. The 73 kWh at 625 km CLTC is the safer choice for ride-hailing, where a driver needs to complete a full shift without a mid-day charge. The 58 kWh version suits shorter urban shifts with depot charging between them.

Is there any Nissan support outside China? +

No. The N7 is a China-market model with no official export programme, so Nissan's dealer networks elsewhere will not honour warranty or provide parts support. That gap has to be filled by your own service arrangement. Nissan's global presence does mean general mechanical familiarity exists, but the electric drivetrain and battery are China-specific.
