Who is Aion?
Aion is the pure-electric arm of Guangzhou-based state automaker GAC. It built its volume on China's ride-hailing and taxi fleets — the Aion S sedan and Aion Y crossover are among the most common electric cars in Chinese fleet service — which makes it a practical, durability-tested choice for buyers who need vehicles that run all day rather than sit in a driveway. The premium Hyptec sub-brand sits above it.
Aion runs an active official export programme across Southeast Asia, Latin America and parts of the Middle East and Africa. Thailand is its most developed overseas market and hosts a local assembly plant; Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines and Malaysia have followed, and Brazil and Mexico anchor the Latin American push.
