Chevrolet Cavalier
Why this model
What makes the Chevrolet Cavalier worth importing
Already exported to Latin America
GM sells the China-built Cavalier in Mexico and other Latin American markets, so an official export route and homologation precedent already exist for the region.
Naturally aspirated 1.5-litre
Simple, durable and tolerant of poor fuel quality — the practical choice for taxi fleets and markets with variable fuel standards.
Manual gearbox available
A five-speed manual keeps purchase price down and suits markets where manual transmissions remain the norm.
GM's global parts infrastructure
Chevrolet parts and service exist across most of the world, which makes ownership practical in a way an unfamiliar Chinese brand cannot match.
Specifications
Chevrolet Cavalier technical data
Manufacturer figures for the China-market car. Equipment and certification vary by trim, production batch and destination — we confirm the exact build sheet before the order is placed.
| Version | Power | Torque | Range | 0–100 | Drive |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol ICE · 5-speed manual / 6-speed automatic | 83 kW113 PS | 141 Nm | — | — | FWD |
| 1.0L turbo three-cylinder ICE · 6-speed automatic | 92 kW125 PS | 170 Nm | — | — | FWD |
A dash means the manufacturer does not publish that figure for this version — we do not estimate it. Range standards differ: CLTC and NEDC read higher than WLTP for the same car, so compare like with like when quoting against a European rival.

About this model
Where the Chevrolet Cavalier sits in the market
The Cavalier is SAIC-GM's entry compact sedan, built in China since 2016 with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine and a 1.0-litre turbo, in manual and automatic forms.
What sets it apart from most China-built cars here is that GM already exports it officially — Mexico and other Latin American markets receive the China-built Cavalier through Chevrolet's own channels. That means homologation precedent exists for the region and, in those markets, warranty follows the official channel. For destinations outside that programme, parallel-export applies. The naturally aspirated engine and manual gearbox make it a practical taxi and entry fleet vehicle in markets with basic servicing.
Built by SAIC-GM for China and also exported to Mexico and some Latin American markets under the Cavalier name. Unrelated to the historical American Cavalier.
Before you order
What an importer must know about the Chevrolet Cavalier
LHD; right-hand-drive is not documented. Important: GM exports the China-built Cavalier officially to Mexico and other Latin American markets — check whether official distribution covers your destination first, since that brings warranty and you would otherwise compete with GM's own channel. Elsewhere parallel-export applies. The Cavalier name is unrelated to the historical American car of the same name. Published China-specification data varies, so we obtain the manufacturer build sheet.
