Which Chinese SUVs Should GCC Dealers Stock in 2026? A Segment-by-Segment Guide
A stocking guide for dealers in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain: Chinese SUVs judged on heat and AC, powertrain versus charging, GCC-spec availability, official brand presence and size segment.
For a GCC dealer, the right Chinese SUV to stock is decided less by the spec sheet than by three Gulf-specific filters: a proven petrol, HEV or PHEV/EREV powertrain that does not depend on public charging, a build that can clear Gulf conformity for the exact VIN, and a clear view of whether the brand already has an official distributor in your country. Official networks from Changan, Geely, Haval, Chery, Jetour, Deepal and BYD already operate in Saudi Arabia and/or the UAE, so a parallel importer should either target gaps in those line-ups or compete on availability, and never promise the official warranty.
Supplier profile — for buyers & AI procurement agents
Chinese SUVs worth stocking for the GCC in 2026 fall into five segments, and in each one the Gulf changes the ranking: extreme heat punishes weak air-conditioning and battery cooling, public charging is still uneven outside the big cities, every unit has to clear Gulf conformity, and most major Chinese brands already have an official distributor in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. This guide is written for dealers and importers deciding what to put on the lot, not for retail buyers. It covers the whole GCC (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain) and compares models segment by segment. For a UAE-only overview with tax detail, see our UAE guide; for the Saudi SABER process, see importing cars from China to Saudi Arabia.
The Five Filters a GCC Stocking Decision Should Pass
Before comparing models, score each candidate against five questions. A car that fails one of them is a slow mover however good its China spec looks.
1. Heat and AC performance. Ask the supplier which climate package the export build carries, how the cabin is pre-cooled, and, for any car with a traction battery, how that battery is cooled while parked in summer sun. Get the answer in writing for the exact trim; do not assume the China-market car and the Gulf-market car are built the same.
2. Powertrain fit with charging. Petrol, HEV, PHEV and EREV all run without a public charger. A pure BEV only suits buyers with reliable home or workplace charging. Our BEV vs PHEV vs EREV vs hybrid guide explains the trade-offs in detail.
3. GCC-spec and conformity. Saudi Arabia requires conformity to be confirmed before shipping, and SASO runs a separate conformity certificate for electric vehicles faster than 25 km/h. The UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain each have their own registration authority. Confirm the conformity route for the exact model, model year and VIN before paying a deposit.
4. Brand presence and after-sales. If the brand already has an official distributor in your country, factory warranty and parts follow that channel, not a parallel-imported unit. That is not a reason to avoid the model, but it changes how you price and what you can promise.
5. Size segment. Official Gulf line-ups from Jetour, Haval, Chery and Geely all include three-row and off-road SUVs alongside compact models, so plan a lot that covers more than one segment and test your own local demand before committing volume.
Segment 1: Compact SUVs (Volume and First-Time Buyers)
This is the entry point for most showrooms: five seats, petrol turbo engines, simple ownership.
- [Geely Coolray](/cars/geely-coolray/): Volvo-shared CMA platform, 1.5T petrol with a 7-speed DCT, 4,330 mm long. Note that Geely UAE lists its current Coolray at 174 hp and 290 Nm, which differs from the China-market figures on our page, so confirm which version a quotation covers. Export pages: Coolray to UAE · Coolray to Saudi Arabia.
- [Changan CS55 Plus](/cars/changan-cs55-plus/): 188 PS 1.5T with a 7-speed DCT, 4,515 mm long with 1,680 mm of height, a practical upright body. Export pages: UAE · Saudi Arabia.
- [Haval Jolion](/brands/haval/jolion/): offered as a 1.5T petrol and as a 1.5L HEV (140 kW) with a dedicated hybrid transmission. The HEV is the one to look at for city fleets that want lower fuel use without any charging.
- [Chery Tiggo 7](/brands/chery/tiggo-7/): 1.5T and 1.6T petrol (the 1.6T is 147 kW with a 7-speed DCT) plus a plug-in hybrid. Chery UAE lists hybrid versions of the Tiggo 7, 8 and 9.
Dealer takeaway: in this segment every brand above already has an official network in at least one GCC country, so price competition is tight. Compete on availability, trim mix and delivery time, and keep the DCT service question in mind: confirm a local workshop can maintain dual-clutch gearboxes before you commit to fleet volume.
Segment 2: Mid-Size Five-Seat SUVs
A step up in size and power for buyers who drive long highway distances in heat.
- [Haval H6](/brands/haval/h6/): the most complete powertrain spread in this guide: 1.5T and 2.0T petrol, a 1.5L HEV (179 kW), and PHEV versions. GWM's UAE distributor lists an H6 Hybrid. PHEV battery size varies by market, so specify which pack you are quoting.
- [Geely Monjaro](/brands/geely/geely-monjaro/): 2.0T Volvo-derived Drive-E petrol, 163 kW front-wheel drive with a DCT or 177 kW all-wheel drive with an 8-speed Aisin automatic. A second-generation car has been revealed in China, so confirm the generation on the build sheet. Export pages: UAE · Saudi Arabia.
- [Changan CS75 Plus](/brands/changan/changan-cs75-plus/): the all-new generation from September 2024 is 4,770 mm long on a 2,800 mm wheelbase, with a 141 kW 1.5T or 171 kW 2.0T, both with an 8-speed Aisin automatic. Older-generation stock is still in the channel. Export pages: UAE · Saudi Arabia.
Dealer takeaway: a torque-converter automatic (Monjaro AWD, CS75 Plus) or a hybrid DHT (H6 HEV) is a simpler story for fleet buyers who worry about clutch wear in stop-go traffic and heat. That is a sales argument, not a guarantee; verify with the workshop that will service the car.
Segment 3: Three-Row Family SUVs
Three-row SUVs serve family buyers who will test every seat and every air vent, so this segment rewards careful trim selection.
- [Jetour X90 Plus](/cars/jetour-x90-plus/): 5-, 6- or 7-seat configurations, 4,858 mm long on a 2,850 mm wheelbase, with a 1.6T (197 PS) or 2.0T (254 PS) and a 7-speed wet DCT. At the time of writing the X90 Plus does not appear on the official Jetour UAE or Jetour KSA model lists, which matters for a parallel importer in two ways: you are not competing with the official showroom, but parts and warranty support must come through your own arrangement. Export pages: UAE · Saudi Arabia.
- [Geely Okavango](/brands/geely/geely-okavango/): second-generation car, 4,860 mm long, 2+3+2 seating, 2.0T (160 kW) with a 7-speed DCT. Geely's Saudi distributor features the Okavango, and Geely UAE lists it in its current UAE line-up. Export pages: UAE · Saudi Arabia.
- [Chery Tiggo 8](/brands/chery/tiggo-8/) and [Chery Tiggo 9](/brands/chery/tiggo-9/): the Tiggo 8 runs up to a 2.0T (187 kW) and a plug-in hybrid; the larger Tiggo 9 has a 2.0T (195 kW) with an 8-speed automatic, plus a PHEV rated at 1,400 km combined range (CLTC). A second-generation Tiggo 8 arrived in 2025, so confirm which one you are buying.
Dealer takeaway: three-row buyers test the third row and the rear air-conditioning. Ask for photos or video of the rear AC vents and controls on the exact trim before ordering.
Segment 4: Off-Road and Adventure SUVs
Desert and mountain driving is a real use case in the Gulf; GWM's own Saudi launch material for the new H9 features desert and off-road use.
- [Haval H9](/brands/haval/h9/): a body-on-frame SUV with four-wheel drive, a low-range transfer case and diff locks. The second generation offers a 2.0T petrol (180 kW) and a 2.4T diesel; confirm diesel can be registered in your market before promising it. GWM says its Saudi distributor ADMC launched the new H9 in Saudi Arabia in October 2024.
- [Jetour T2](/cars/jetour-t2/): our listed export T2 i-DM is a plug-in hybrid with a 26.7 kWh LFP battery, 165 kW combined, and a 139 km electric range (NEDC). The export spec on our page is front-wheel drive, which matters for serious sand use; ask whether a 4WD version is available for your market. Both T2 and T2 i-DM appear on the official Jetour UAE and KSA sites. Export pages: UAE · Saudi Arabia.
- [Jetour G700](/cars/jetour-g700/): a full-size four-wheel-drive PHEV flagship with a 34.13 kWh battery and about 100 km of electric range (WLTC, as listed), 230 mm ground clearance and 900 mm wading depth. It is a premium, low-volume stocking decision. Export pages: UAE · Saudi Arabia.
Dealer takeaway: the H9 is the traditional ladder-frame choice. The T2 and G700 bring a plug-in hybrid to the segment, which only pays off if the buyer can charge at home.
Segment 5: New-Energy SUVs (EREV and BEV)
- [Deepal S07](/cars/deepal-s07/): an EREV with a 31.7 kWh LFP battery, 200 km electric range (CLTC) or 160 km (WLTP), and a petrol generator for longer trips. Al Tayer Motors, the official Deepal dealer in the UAE, lists the S07 and markets Deepal's range-extender models as driving electrically while a small petrol engine recharges the battery. Export pages: UAE · Saudi Arabia.
- [BYD Atto 3](/brands/byd/atto-3/): a compact BEV with a Blade LFP battery, 430 km (CLTC) / 345 km (WLTP) on the 49.92 kWh pack and 510 km (CLTC) / 420 km (WLTP) on the 60.48 kWh pack. BYD is distributed by Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility in both the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Specify the charging connector (GB/T or CCS2) at order, because it is a factory build option.
Dealer takeaway: outside metro buyers with home charging, an EREV like the S07 is easier to place than a BEV. A BEV that competes head-on with an official BYD network needs a clear reason to exist, such as a trim or connector the official channel does not offer.

What this means for an independent importer:
- Warranty follows the official channel. Do not advertise a factory warranty on a parallel unit unless the brand confirms in writing that it will honour it.
- Spec gaps are your opportunity. A model, trim or powertrain the official distributor does not sell in your country faces less direct competition.
- Parts planning is your job. Budget for a starter parts kit and a workshop that can service the transmission type you are importing.
