Haval Dargo
Why this model
What makes the Haval Dargo worth importing
Off-road looks with two diff locks
The second generation carries two differential locks, computer-controlled four-wheel drive, a tank-turn function and nine all-terrain modes — real hardware behind the rugged styling.
Boxy design that photographs well
The upright, squared-off body is the reason this model sells. In markets where a car is a statement, the Dargo's look does the marketing for you.
Plug-in hybrid with four-wheel drive
The second-generation PHEV pairs 240 kW and 530 Nm with up to 150 km of electric range and four-wheel drive — an unusual combination in this size and price class.
Unibody, not a truck
It uses a monocoque body rather than a ladder frame, so it rides and handles like a car on the road while still handling rough surfaces. The right choice when customers want capability without a truck's compromises.

A dash means the manufacturer does not publish that figure for this version — we do not estimate it. Range standards differ: CLTC and NEDC read higher than WLTP for the same car, so compare like with like when quoting against a European rival.

About this model
Where the Haval Dargo sits in the market
The Dargo — Big Dog in China — is Great Wall's boxy compact off-road SUV, built on a unibody rather than a ladder frame. The second generation from 2023 runs to 4,705 mm on a 2,810 mm wheelbase, with 1.5T and 2.0T petrol engines and a 240 kW plug-in hybrid producing 530 Nm with up to 150 km of electric range and four-wheel drive.
It occupies a specific niche: buyers who want the look and some of the capability of a serious off-roader without the ride quality, fuel consumption and price of a body-on-frame vehicle. Two differential locks and nine terrain modes mean the hardware is real, not decorative. Confirmed export markets are Russia, Saudi Arabia, Australia and South Africa, which is narrower than the H6 or Jolion, so there is more open territory for an independent importer.
Sold as Big Dog (大狗) in China and Dargo for export. The second generation from 2023 adds a plug-in hybrid and a longer 2,810 mm wheelbase.
Before you order
What an importer must know about the Haval Dargo
LHD; right-hand-drive availability is not confirmed by the manufacturer, though Australia and South Africa are listed export markets — verify before quoting an RHD destination. Confirmed export presence is narrower than for the H6 and Jolion, covering Russia, Saudi Arabia, Australia and South Africa, so for other markets homologation may need to be established. The plug-in hybrid's electric range is quoted between 50 and 150 km depending on the battery fitted, so specify the exact pack when quoting.
Market fit
Where the Haval Dargo sells
Based on documented export presence and how the vehicle suits local conditions — not a guarantee of homologation, which we confirm per market before you order.
Russia and the CIS
A confirmed export market where boxy off-road styling and four-wheel drive suit both the roads and the taste.
Russia import process, duties and routes →Middle East
Saudi Arabia is a confirmed market; desert-capable styling with terrain modes appeals to recreational buyers.
Central Asia
Rough rural roads with buyers who want capability but cannot justify a full body-on-frame SUV's running costs.
Africa
South Africa is a confirmed GWM market with strong demand for capable, distinctive-looking SUVs.
