Wuling Hong Guang V / Rongguang V
Why this model
What makes the Wuling Hong Guang V / Rongguang V worth importing
Sliding doors, rear-wheel drive
Sliding side doors rather than hinged, on a rear-drive layout with a simple 1.5-litre engine. That is the configuration small businesses actually need for loading in tight streets.
The cheapest way to move people or goods
Wuling's commercial vans are the default light commercial vehicle across much of China precisely because nothing undercuts them. The same logic applies in developing export markets.
Mechanically simple
A naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine with a manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive. Any competent workshop can maintain it, which matters more than technology where dealer networks are thin.
Passenger or cargo configurations
The same vehicle serves as a seven-seat people carrier or a load van. Fleet buyers can order a mixed container.
Specifications
Wuling Hong Guang V / Rongguang V technical data
Manufacturer figures for the China-market car. Equipment and certification vary by trim, production batch and destination — we confirm the exact build sheet before the order is placed.
| Version | Power | Torque | Range | 0–100 | Drive |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1.5L petrol — 5-speed manual ICE · 5-speed manual | 77 kW105 PS | — | — | — | RWD |
| 1.5L petrol — 6-speed manual ICE · 6-speed manual | 73 kW99 PS | — | — | — | RWD |
A dash means the manufacturer does not publish that figure for this version — we do not estimate it. Range standards differ: CLTC and NEDC read higher than WLTP for the same car, so compare like with like when quoting against a European rival.

About this model
Where the Wuling Hong Guang V / Rongguang V sits in the market
The Hongguang V, also sold as the Rongguang V, is SAIC-GM-Wuling's compact van — a 4,415 mm sliding-door vehicle on a rear-wheel-drive layout with a 1.5-litre petrol engine of 73 to 77 kW driving through a manual gearbox. It has been in production since 2015 at Liuzhou in Guangxi.
This is deliberately basic transport, and that is its commercial strength. Wuling's light commercial vehicles dominate their segment in China because nothing matches them on cost per unit of capacity, and the same argument works in developing markets where a small business needs to move goods or people cheaply and have the vehicle repairable by any local workshop. There is no published export programme for this model, so it moves through the parallel-export channel — which is common for Chinese light commercials and well understood by the trade.
Sold as both Hongguang V and Rongguang V depending on market and model year. This is the sliding-door van version of the Hongguang MPV family, not the passenger MPV.
Before you order
What an importer must know about the Wuling Hong Guang V / Rongguang V
LHD; right-hand-drive availability is not documented for this model. There is no published manufacturer export programme, so units move through the parallel-export channel — normal for Chinese light commercial vehicles but it means warranty and parts must be arranged locally. Emissions certification is the usual obstacle: a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre engine built to Chinese domestic standards may not meet the emissions regime in some destinations, so confirm homologation feasibility before ordering rather than after. Seating configuration affects duty classification in many markets — passenger versus cargo makes a real difference to landed cost.
