The YU7 is Xiaomi's second model and its answer to the Tesla Model Y — a 4,999 mm coupé SUV on a 3,000 mm wheelbase, launched in June 2025. Batteries run to 96.3 kWh LFP and 101.7 kWh CATL Qilin NMC, with a rear-drive base version rated 835 km CLTC and dual-motor versions up to 508 kW reaching 100 km/h in 3.23 seconds, all on an 871-volt silicon-carbide architecture.

It carries the specification that made the SU7 successful — HyperOS cabin, 128-line LiDAR, a 1.1-metre panoramic head-up display — in the body style that sells in the largest volume worldwide. Like the SU7 there is no export programme, no right-hand drive and no overseas warranty, so this is a parallel-export proposition sold on brand recognition and specification.

The base rear-drive car. It has the longest range in the range at 835 km CLTC, 235 kW is entirely adequate, and it lands cheapest. The Pro at 4.27 seconds and the Max at 3.23 seconds cost more, weigh more and go less far. Order one Max as a showroom halo if you want the performance story, but sell the base car.

How does it compare with a Tesla Model Y? +

The YU7 is longer at 4,999 mm, has a substantially bigger battery, offers 835 km CLTC against the Model Y's rating, and carries far more equipment — LiDAR, a 1.1-metre head-up display, 871 V architecture. Tesla wins on service network, resale value and charging infrastructure. Where Tesla has no Supercharger coverage and Xiaomi has strong consumer brand recognition, the comparison often favours the YU7.

Is there any official support outside China? +

None. Xiaomi has no export programme, no overseas dealer network and no international warranty for its vehicles. Every unit outside China is a parallel import, and servicing must be arranged locally with parts shipped from China. Xiaomi's phone business having a local presence does not extend to cars. That gap has to be closed by you or your service partner, and the customer should know it before ordering.
