Li Auto L9
Why this model
What makes the Li L9 worth importing
The car that defined the segment
The L9 created China's six-seat range-extender flagship category in 2022. Every rival here — Aito M9, Denza N9, Voyah Taishan — is answering this car.
1,650 km total range on the second generation
420 km CLTC on electricity alone plus the generator, against 280 km and 1,412 km CLTC on the current first-generation cars. It crosses a country without stopping.
Six seats with genuine executive comfort
Three rows of two, with individual captain's chairs, air suspension and a 21.4-inch rear display on 2025 cars. Built for people who are driven.
Dual-chamber air suspension
Upgraded in the 2025 update. Ride quality is the single thing rear passengers notice most, and this is where the L9 spends its engineering budget.

A dash means the manufacturer does not publish that figure for this version — we do not estimate it. Range standards differ: CLTC and NEDC read higher than WLTP for the same car, so compare like with like when quoting against a European rival.

About this model
Where the Li L9 sits in the market
The L9 is Li Auto's flagship and the vehicle that created China's six-seat range-extender SUV segment in 2022. The first generation is 5,218 mm on a 3,105 mm wheelbase with a 52.3 kWh NMC battery, a 1.5-litre turbo generator and dual motors producing 330 kW and 620 Nm, reaching 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds with 280 km CLTC electric range and 1,412 km CLTC combined. The 2026 second generation raises this to 72.7 kWh, 420 km electric and 1,650 km combined, adding steer-by-wire and four-wheel steering on a longer, heavier body.
Every competitor in this class — the Aito M9, Denza N9, Voyah Taishan — exists in response to the L9. For an importer it is the benchmark product: proven, high-volume and with the strongest brand recognition in the category, which shortens the explaining a dealer has to do. There is no official export programme, so it moves on parallel-export terms with warranty and service arranged locally.
Li Auto's flagship. The first generation launched in June 2022 with a 42.6 kWh pack and moved to 52.3 kWh in 2024; it measures 5,218 × 1,998 × 1,800 mm on a 3,105 mm wheelbase and weighs 2,520–2,570 kg. A second generation was unveiled in February 2026 and launched in May 2026 with a 72.7 kWh battery, 420 km CLTC electric range, steer-by-wire and four-wheel steering; it is larger at 5,255 × 2,000 × 1,810 mm on a 3,125 mm wheelbase and heavier at 2,755–2,835 kg. The dimensions and kerb weight fields below are the first generation.
Before you order
What an importer must know about the Li L9
LHD; right-hand-drive is not documented. Li Auto runs no official export programme and has no overseas dealer network, so parallel-export applies with no manufacturer warranty or service abroad. Charging is GB/T. Two generations exist with substantially different batteries and range — 52.3 kWh / 280 km CLTC electric and 1,412 km combined on the current first generation, against 72.7 kWh / 420 km and 1,650 km on the 2026 second generation — and both circulate in export channels, so we state the generation and model year on every quote. Kerb weight rises from 2,520–2,570 kg on the first generation to 2,755–2,835 kg on the second, which should be checked against local licence categories. Wikipedia also lists Kostanay, Kazakhstan as an assembly site for the second generation alongside Changzhou; that is local assembly rather than an export programme, but it is worth verifying if a Central Asian customer asks about locally built cars.
Market fit
Where the Li L9 sells
Based on documented export presence and how the vehicle suits local conditions — not a guarantee of homologation, which we confirm per market before you order.
Middle East
Full-size luxury SUV demand in the Gulf is the strongest anywhere, and six-seat family transport is the norm.
Central Asia
Very long distances with almost no charging network — 1,412 km CLTC combined answers that completely.
Russia and the CIS
Large luxury SUV appetite and a drivetrain that avoids winter battery range collapse.
Russia import process, duties and routes →Southeast Asia
Executive and large-family transport where the L9's reputation has already spread through Chinese business communities.
